Welcome to our website. Weather Top Alpacas is owned
by Rick and Chris Starkweather. We hope you enjoy your
"virtual" ranch visit and look forward to
scheduling an in-person ranch visit with you soon. We
are located in the beautiful rolling hills of Prescott,
Arizona. Weather Top Alpacas began with the purchase
of our first animals at the beginning of 2003. Since
that time, we have focused on a strategic breeding program
that is reflected in the quality of our herd.
We offer proven quality from the bloodlines of Dom
Lucilio, Augusto, Quijote, Royal Gold, Felix, and Victor
to name a few.
Alpaca Sales
We offer quality, proven genetics from nationally recognized
blood lines. When you purchase an alpaca from Weather Top,
our service does not end with the sale. Friendly on-going
support is given to all of our customers. We also provide
full disclosure, so you can be certain you have all
of the facts about the animal you are purchasing. If
we know it, you will know it! Any female purchased from
us comes with a free breeding back to the Weather Top
herdsire of your choice, so you are always guaranteed
a package deal! A live cria guarantee is provided for
all bred females. We also offer delivery of your alpacas
in certain areas.
Alpaca Products
Visit our on-line ranch store today for beautiful
alpaca products made from our own alpaca fleece, as
well as others. Check back often, as new items are being
added all the time. We are currently working to build
our store at the ranch, but we will be happy to display
these wonderful soft creations for you to enjoy and
purchase when you visit until the store is up and running.
 Breeding
Every time we breed a female, we do it with that next
great stud in mind, so you can always expect exceptional
herdsires from Weather Top Alpacas. Every breeding comes
with a live cria guarantee, and multiple breeding discounts
are available. When your females come for a breeding,
you can rest assured that your girls and any crias at
their side will receive the same exceptional care that
we provide for our own alpacas. You will receive constant
updates on your girls and breeding progress reports.
All pregnancies are confirmed through ultrasound. Don't
like sending your females off the farm? We offer drive-by
breeding services to certain areas of the state.
Agisting
The animals entrusted to us enjoy the same comfortable,
safe lifestyle and TLC as our own alpacas. Rick is at
the ranch full time, so your animals are not left alone
for extended periods of time. We also have close-by
access to excellent veterinary care. All alpacas are
provided with shelter, daily pasture time and the best
quality hay and supplements available. We conduct monthly
herd-management days to monitor the health and well-being
of all of the animals. Frequent communications will
keep you informed about how your alpacas are getting
along. Our agisting fees include care of the pregnant
dam, birthing, cria care, weaning, training and routine
injections and herd maintenance. The only additional
costs you incur are veterinary fees. Call or email us
